The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on ITV to take immediate action regarding Nadia Sawalha’s repeated dissemination of antisemitic and pro-terrorist rhetoric on social media.

At a time when antisemitic incidents in the UK are at record levels, ITV’s continued platforming of an individual who has publicly trivialised the Holocaust, justified terrorism, and engaged in conspiratorial delegitimisation of Israel is deeply irresponsible.

Sawalha has:

Trivialised the Holocaust by falsely equating Israel’s actions with genocide and appropriating “Never Again” to attack the world’s only Jewish state.
Endorsed terrorist propaganda, sharing posts that depict Hamas—a proscribed terrorist organisation under UK law—as “freedom fighters.”
Engaged in the systematic delegitimisation of Israel, adopting the rhetorical tactics of extremist groups that deny the Jewish people’s right to self-determination.
ITV recently aired a Holocaust Memorial Day segment on Loose Women, yet failed to meaningfully address the rise in antisemitism. Worse still, the show continues to employ a presenter who actively fuels anti-Jewish hatred. This is an unacceptable double standard.

Our Demands

We call on ITV to:

  • Publicly address and condemn Sawalha’s statements and clarify whether such views align with the values of the network.
  • Reassess her role on Loose Women, as no national broadcaster should continue employing an individual who normalises hate speech.
  • Commit to fair and responsible reporting on antizionism and Israel by ensuring discussions include knowledgeable Jewish voices and credible experts.

Had such remarks been made about any other community, the response would have been swift and decisive. The Jewish community deserves the same standard of accountability. By allowing Sawalha to continue broadcasting, ITV is sending a dangerous message that antizionism is permissible on British television.

We refuse to accept this. Sign the petition to demand that ITV take responsibility for the voices it platforms.
