The Issue

We are running out of time. The Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta (ISB Atlanta) is scheduled to celebrate its 25th Anniversary Gala on October 10, 2026. By honoring the Blank Family with the Distinguished Leadership Award, ISB is on the verge of making a devastating moral compromise.

An organization established to combat bigotry, stand for equity, and protect civil discourse cannot hand its highest honor to an institution using its massive financial power to censor advocates for human rights. We must act now to force a reversal before this gala takes place.

Recent exposures have revealed that Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons and operator of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, weaponized his venue ownership within a coordinated network of billionaire stadium operators. This elite cartel pressured major tour promoters to completely remove the artist Macklemore from Ed Sheeran’s North American stadium tour, utilizing the explicit threat of widespread venue cancellations. This aggressive corporate blacklisting was executed for one reason only: Macklemore dared to speak out from a public stage to defend Palestinian human rights and demand an end to the devastating humanitarian crisis and violence in Gaza.
By actively participating in a financial and professional siege against an artist standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people, Arthur Blank’s actions fundamentally contradict the core values of peace, equity, and human dignity that ISB Atlanta purports to champion. Granting this award legitimizes the systemic suppression of pro-Palestinian speech and signals that billionaire donors are immune to social and moral accountability. The community will not stand by and watch its institutions cross this line.

The Blank Family, despite their contributions in various sectors, have decisions and actions in their portfolio that conflict with the core values of integrity, justice, and community welfare, which we, as a society, cherish deeply. It is crucial for organizations like ISB Atlanta to maintain their ethical standards and remain unwavering champions for truth and justice. Rewarding individuals or families, whose past actions do not align with these principles, sends the wrong message to the community and undermines the mission we all stand for.

A recent in-depth investigation has revealed instances where the Blank Family’s business interests were in conflict with the social values of equity and fairness. The family has been entangled in legal battles concerning workers' rights and environmental ethics. Numerous credible reports detail these incidents, highlighting a pattern that is concerning and incompatible with the spirit of the Distinguished Leadership Award.
