Demand Investigation and Accountability for Deaths Inside JPSO Jail

Demand Investigation and Accountability for Deaths Inside JPSO Jail
The Issue
April 23rd, 2025 my family experienced a traumatic loss, Uncle Robert Earl McAdory (Bubba), who was only 45 years old when his life was abruptly and tragically taken away from him while incarcerated in JPSO jail. He was admitted to the medical ward immediately upon booking, due to the wounds "he" caused upon his arrest. While under the medical ward supervision he was said to have an ulcer burst, causing him to go septic. He was transported to Ochsner Hospital sometime on Tuesday April 22nd, 2025 where he was immediately intubated and unconscious upon arrival. His mother was approved to see him at 11:01am April 23rd. All other family was required to stay in the front foyer or "in the car" while she went alone to visit her son, per the warden's orders according to the hospital administration. Unbeknownst to his family he was pronounced dead April 23rd, 2025 at 10:18am. His mother didn't walk in to see her son, she walked in to view his body.. Bubba Mcadory was a happy, healthy 45 year a few short week prior to his death. JPSO is attempting to paint the image of "pre-existing medical conditions" to protect themselves from what really happened. His death was due to JPSO's negligence in providing the proper medical care he needed. Prison officials have a constitutional duty to provide adequate medical care to inmates, failing to do so violates the Eighth Amendment's protection against cruel and unusual punishment.
His death was not an isolated incident. In fact, in the past few years, there have been over 30 deaths of inmates under the age of 50, all classified as death from "natural causes." This is a mask for the dangerous conditions and treatment of inmates within the JPSO jail, where in the last week alone, several deaths have been reported. This institution and the authorities handling these cases have failed to offer solid answers to the rising death toll, causing untold heartache to the families left seeking justice.
Through my quest for answers, I have encountered over 30 families who have been impacted by this unjust system. We are united in our pain, our desire for truth, and a call for change. In the memory of my Uncle Bubba, and all other lives tragically lost within this system, we demand transparency and immediate reform within the JPSO system. This is required to ensure that our loved ones are treated with the dignity and respect that every human being deserves, even when incarcerated.
This is more than just a personal cause; it is a call to safeguard the fundamental rights of all human beings. We request an immediate, independent, and thorough investigation into the deaths that have occurred inside JPSO jail. We also appeal for systemic changes that uphold human rights and preserve the dignity of all prisoners.
Please help us bring justice to all families affected by this tragic and preventable situation by signing this petition, affirming the value and dignity of every life.
