The Issue

Our community in Indianapolis is facing a distressing situation as ICE raids continue to disrupt the lives of our neighbors. This creates an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty among families who call our city home. We’re seeing heartbreaking stories emerge, reflecting the fear within our neighborhoods. Although some voices support compliance with ICE, they do not represent the majority of our compassionate community. Most of us are appalled by these actions and worried for our neighbors' safety.

It's crucial to remember that Indiana ranks 45th in education, which underpins the importance of informed and empathetic community decisions. This issue highlights systemic problems that need addressing—fear and distress should not be the norm for our community members. By compelling the Indianapolis Police Department to stop cooperating with ICE raids, we can take significant steps towards safeguarding our community and reinforcing trust.

Our goal is to see Indianapolis flourish as a city where all individuals feel safe and valued. Ending local involvement in ICE actions is a vital step in reducing fear and keeping families together. We should strive for community-driven peace and stability, rather than aiding actions that cause distress and division.

Join us in calling on local authorities to end cooperation with ICE raids. Together, we can ensure that Indianapolis remains a haven of safety and unity. Please sign this petition to make a difference.
