There seems to be a misunderstanding of our movement's goals. Let me be clear: we are not fighting for the shutdown of all fraternities. Our focus is specifically on as mentioned in the petition, Sigma Chi and Theta Chi, due to their repeated use of roofies, manipulate tactics, and the sexual assault of several women as a result. Of course, if other fraternities or individuals within them engage in sexual assault at high levels, we will not hesitate to take them on as well. However, we are not aiming to close  down all fraternities, as doing so could negatively impact the university's enrollment and be detrimental to a work-life balance. We fully support students having fun in college, whether through partying or other social activities. These experiences are an essential part of college life.

Let it be clear that at no point have we told the university or the IFC to shut down all fraternities. It is confirmed the administration of the university does monitor the student platform “YikYak” app, so everybody needs to do their part with not lying and being truthful. Otherwise, it could result in harm outside of this movement. If it did not happen, do not report it.

Our movement prioritizes individual accountability. Those responsible for sexual assault should face expulsion, campus bans, and legal action. Whether or not a fraternity should be disbanded depends on the severity of the issue. If only a few brothers—say, 1 to 5—are involved, they should be removed from campus and met with legal action while the fraternity remains. But if there are 20 to 30 predators including E-Board, that fraternity becomes a threat to the university and should be disbanded. It's essential that these decisions are made with transparency and in the interest of the safety of the entire student body. Addressing these issues head-on is imperative to preventing further harm and ensuring a safer campus environment.

Out of fairness, we cannot mention specific names. We believe the university should conduct thorough and rigorous investigations into the fraternities in question. Naming someone as a predator could result in unnecessary complications if they are later found innocent. Our primary objective is to make sure justice is served without causing harm to those who may be wrongly accused. We call on the university and the IFC to commit to a rigorous investigative process and to take the necessary steps to hold individuals and organizations accountable.

We want to emphasize that our movement is about safety and fairness, not to ruin the greek life system. We believe in the value of greek life when it operates responsibly and in alignment with the well-being of all students. Our focus remains on addressing the serious issues of sexual assault within specific fraternities, not dissolving the greek life as a whole. By targeting the fraternities that are the most harmful, we aim to create a safer university while keeping close the positive aspects of college life. Ultimately, this movement is about fostering a culture of accountability and ensuring that every student can enjoy their college experience without fear of violence.
