The Peaceful Protestors of Sri Lanka who were peacefully protesting against the Rajapaksa regime at GotaGoGama (Galle Face) and MainaGoGama (Temple Trees) were brutally assaulted following State propaganda backed by corrupt police and armed forces on 9th May, 2022.

The assault which the police and army chose not to prevent, triggered nationwide anarchy and violence, claiming more than 6 innocent lives, injuring over 200 protestors, and destruction of property.

Numerous verifiable video footage indicates the attack was planned and executed at Temple Trees where the violent attackers met Mahinda Rajapaksa before coming out to assault the peaceful protestors.

Citizens keep rioting in spite of the State of Emergency, for fear of the Rajapaksas fleeing the country avoiding prosecution. Rumor says some have already fled.

We therefore call upon the Police, The Courts system, and the Interpol to immediately impose Travel Bans on all members of the Rajapaksa family, primarily including

• Mahinda Rajapaksa
• Gotabaya Rajapaksa
• Shiranthi Rajapaksa
• Namal Rajapaksa
• Yoshitha Rajapaksa, and Rohitha Rajapaksa

 in order to  maintain law and order, thereby preventing the violence from escalating.  

We implore all relevant authorities to work towards detaining and prosecuting Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa and the above listed members.
