This petition is initiated by a group of concerned Pediatricians who are deeply troubled by the recent kidnappings of children in Israel, who were subsequently taken to Gaza. As professionals dedicated to the physical and mental well-being of children, we recognize this act as a severe form of child abuse. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) clearly states that every child has the right to life, survival and development (Article 6). Furthermore, it emphasizes that governments must do all they can to protect and care for children affected by war (Article 38). These rights are being blatantly violated through these abductions. We urge international organizations and governments worldwide to intervene immediately for their release. Every moment spent in captivity exacerbates their trauma and risks their health.
