Hi all, I wanted to let you know that we now have 2698 signatures on this petition. Thank you so much for your support!
I’ve sent emails, received replies and have been in contact with members of the Township of South Stormont, The Counties of SDG and the office of Nolan Quinn.
I would like to clear a few things for everyone, The Township of South Stormont shares in our grief for the loss of Charlotte Light and has expressed their sincere condolences. We are a small tight knit community and members from the Township want nothing more than the expedited construction of this recreational path. Unfortunately they have no jurisdiction over the lands, they are essentially lobbying the St-Lawrence Parks Commission, (an Agency of the Ontario Government) for permission to build on or transfer of the lands. I spoke with the office of Nolan Quinn MPP and requested his involvement to aid in discussions and remove any hurdles to expedite the paths construction…I have yet to receive a reply. Hopefully he will be in talks with the Township.
The Township has informed me they will be meeting with The Counties of SDG this week. They plan to discuss the quick installation of reflective flexible posts along the length of Hoople Bay bridge, as The Counties have jurisdiction over Hwy#2 and a portion of the lands alongside.
The St-Lawrence Parks Commission’s Guest relations have express their condolences and stated they are committed to working closely with the Township.
The Township of South Stormont has updated their website to provide more information in regards to the Proposed recreational path.
“County Road 2 Recreation Path Discussion“
In it they provide a link and recommend for concerned residents to contact the office of Nolan Quinn MPP, and the St-Lawrence Parks Commission. Please do so as discussions seem to be slow and frustrating. It’s important that we continue to put pressure on the interested parties as we have been waiting too long for this project to see the light of day!

Would you help me get more signatures by sharing this petition with ten other people on social media? Facebook groups, SMS chats, Twitter, email and WhatsApp all work great. If more of us sign, we can’t be ignored!
Thanks again for supporting this cause.
