This is much larger than just one person and their wheelchair accessing the pier; it's about breaking all accessible barriers—physical, attitudinal, policy-related—and exposing ableism. It's about prioritizing accessibility, recognizing it as a fundamental human right, and making it a key societal value, rather than a 'nice-to-have.'

The City of White Rock has detailed solutions already provided and dedicated funding in reserve to address the accessibility needs of the pier. Yet, despite these resources being available, no significant action has been taken and delay tactics have been exercised. The lack of accessibility prevents many residents and visitors with disabilities from enjoying this iconic landmark.

Accessibility is not optional; it's a necessity that impacts the quality of life for countless individuals. By ensuring that everyone can access the pier safely and comfortably, we are fostering an inclusive community where everyone feels valued.
