Seeing neglected horses in Pike County is an emotional burden on our community. It's disheartening to witness these majestic creatures suffer due to lack of resources and assistance. I, along with many others, have tried to help, but our efforts are often constrained by the limited support we receive. Unlike other counties, where horses are treated with care and dignity, our community falls short. We aspire to reach the standards, where wildlife thrives under the protection and support they deserve.

Pike County has the resources and support needed to rectify this issue. Notably, Breathitt County has set a precedent with their successful rescue operations. Learning from their example, we can implement similar strategies to ensure the wellbeing of our horses. However, our attempts to engage the Pike County Judge Executive, Ray Jones, are continually dismissed. Speaking out for these voiceless animals seems to attract more barriers than solutions—a disheartening reality that needs immediate change.

We urgently call on Ray Jones and the Fiscal Court to recognize the gravity of the situation and take decisive steps. Our demands are clear: establish a comprehensive rescue and care plan, allocate necessary resources, and engage the community in awareness programs to safeguard the welfare of our horses. Ignoring our plea should not be an option.

By signing this petition, you are joining our call for justice and a brighter future for these innocent animals. Let’s stand together and demand action from our leaders to put an end to this neglect and build a community that values and protects all its inhabitants. Please sign and share this petition to demand justice for these animals and a better future for Pike County.
