We, the concerned citizens of the world (not just Seattle) , demand immediate action in response to the deeply troubling incident involving Daniel Auderer, the vice president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG), and Mike Solan, the Guild's president. Furthermore, we seek justice and accountability for the tragic death of Jaahnavi Kandula.

A video surfaced (Bodycam Footage) showing Daniel Auderer making insensitive and callous remarks about Jaahnavi Kandula's death. ALL the rank and file of SPOG are accountable.  

Jaahnavi Kandula was a young individual who tragically lost their life under circumstances that require thorough investigation. It is crucial that we hold those responsible accountable for their actions. The subsequent revelations regarding insensitivity displayed by both Auderer and Solan have further deepened our concerns about systemic issues within Seattle Police Department (SPD).

We believe that no one should be above the law or immune to consequences when they fail to uphold their duty to protect and serve our community. Therefore, we urge local authorities to take immediate action by:

1. Arresting Daniel Auderer pending a comprehensive investigation into his conduct.
2. Holding Mike Solan accountable for his failure to address these incidents appropriately.
3. Conducting an independent review into SPD's policies regarding officer conduct, ensuring transparency and accountability.
4. Implementing mandatory sensitivity training programs for all officers within SPD.
5. Establishing clear protocols on how officers should handle sensitive cases involving tragic deaths.

By taking these necessary steps towards justice and accountability, we can begin rebuilding trust between law enforcement agencies and our community members who deserve safety, respect, and equal treatment under the law.

We call upon Mayor Jenny Durkan, City Council members, and other relevant authorities to prioritize the well-being of our community by addressing these issues promptly.   WE WANT JUSTICE!!

(The incidence occurred in January, 2023.  If it hadn’t been for the whistleblower, we would have never heard about it. The whistleblower should be recognized and commended to encourage others.)
