Petition to
The Inubosaki Aquarium and the Chiba Prefectural Health and Welfare Department
A dolphin and 46 penguins were abandoned in the Inubosaki Aquarium in the city of Choshi in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
I am asking the Inubosaki Aquarium and the Chiba Prefectural Health and Welfare Department to send Honey the lone dolphin to a sanctuary along with all the other animals.
The animals, including a dolphin called Honey, have been abandoned since the start of the year.
Honey, a female bottlenose dolphin, was captured in 2005 near Taiji, a western port of the town that has become notorious for its annual dolphin hunt which was featured in the Oscar-winning documentary, The Cove.
The operator of the Inubosaki Marine Park Aquarium in the city of Choshi in Chiba prefecture, just east of Tokyo, shuttered the facility in January citing a decline in visitors after the 2011 earthquake and nuclear crisis.
Honey and 46 penguins, along with hundreds of fish and reptiles, remain at the closed aquarium.
This is not acceptable and action is needed as soon as possible. A group that handles animals have a responsibility to explain and let them go to a sanctuary.
