I created this petition because I feel deeply disappointed and let down by the actions of our elected officials, Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer. For too long, I have witnessed their consistent support of AIPAC, a lobby group that, in my view, does not truly represent the interests and values of the American people. Like many of you, I yearn for lawmakers who prioritize the voices and needs of their constituents over powerful political lobbies.

It's no secret that AIPAC has wielded significant influence over American politics, often swaying decision-making and policy formulation. This organization has a significant impact on the way our country approaches foreign policy, often pushing narratives that don't align with the best interests of the U.S. or the global community. Both Jeffries and Schumer have demonstrated a record of siding with AIPAC-endorsed policies, even when evidence and broader public opinion suggest otherwise.

For instance, the consistent push towards aggressive policies in the Middle East, often endorsed by AIPAC, runs counter to the desires of many Americans who long for peace and diplomatic solutions. According to a 2023 Pew Research Center poll, over 60% of Americans expressed a preference for more peaceful diplomacy in foreign policy. Despite this, there seems to be little change in stance from these lawmakers.

Moreover, such unwavering loyalty to AIPAC calls into question the integrity of our elected officials. The extensive funds and endorsements provided by AIPAC to campaigners often overshadow the individual votes of ordinary citizens like you and me. Shouldn't our representatives prioritize their political agendas based on the collective needs of their electorates rather than the desires of a few powerful groups?

By calling for Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer to step down, we aim to reinstate the democratic core of our institutions. We demand leaders who are free from the undue influence of lobbying groups, leaders who genuinely listen and respond to the issues the American public deems important.

We need representatives who are committed to peace, transparency, and sincerity in their duties. The power of true representation lies with us, the people, and now is the time to voice our dissent. Join me in demanding a government that represents our ideals and not those of powerful lobbyists.
