Demand Hackney Council take car free promise seriously and listen to local parking demand

Demand Hackney Council take car free promise seriously and listen to local parking demand
The Issue
Hackney Council have failed to uphold or respect the car free status of newly developed flats in Dalston Lane. They have sold permits to so called car free developments and continue to sell large amounts of visitors permits to allow people to park. This has meant a huge increase in parking in a small residential area in Dalston. It also flies in the face of their commitment to residents and to the Mayor of London to take car free status seriously.
Residents in surrounding streets in Dalston are asking that the council assure us that they will close this parking loophole!!
Residents are also asking for controlled parking hours to be extended to meet the growing demands on a small area and to reflect the new unsustainable pressure on parking which is affecting their lives.
