Pensions UK says that around 82% of the working population are expected to reach the minimum standard of living in retirement, with just 23% ... expected to reach the moderate (amount).

New figures highlight the challenges many face to save enough for retirement, with just 9% on track to afford a 'comfortable' lifestyle.
Our petition campaign includes policy for living state pension:
- Pay, for example, £547.60 per week state pension (2025-26 rate), which is £2,190.40 per month, and equals £26,284.80 per year.
This is almost equal to a moderate, middle pension income of
£32,700 single person household, but our petition also demands state pension is tax free by not factored into your income tax.
