Demand Greenville and Spartanburg Counties to Expand the GCAC Facility

Demand Greenville and Spartanburg Counties to Expand the GCAC Facility
The Issue
I have seen dozens of posts about the heartbreaking reality: dozens of pets are being euthanized within days of being admitted into the Greenville County Animal Control (GCAC). Nearby nonprofit rescue organizations are doing their best to rescue and place these animals, but they are overwhelmed. They need time to properly assess the dogs and cats currently in their care and screen potential owners, which means they can't rescue additional pets.
Greenville and Spartanburg Counties have both grown by 21% since 2010. This growth has resulted in an increase in abandoned and lost pets that our current facilities can't handle. The GCAC has not significantly expanded its capacity despite this dramatic population growth, leading to high euthanasia rates due to lack of space.
The situation is dire; we cannot continue on this path. We must demand that Greenville County and Spartanburg County take immediate action to expand the GCAC facility. More space would mean more time for these animals, giving them a second chance at life.
We urge all of you who care about our community's animals - sign this petition now! Let's give our furry friends the fighting chance they deserve by demanding expansion for GCAC!
