I am a dedicated pharmacy technician who has served the NHS for over a decade. Throughout this time, I have witnessed numerous decisions being made about our practice with scant regard for us - the frontline staff. As pharmacy professionals, we are mandated to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in order to fulfill our roles of aiding those in need. However, it is unjust that our fees are used to support exorbitant executive salaries and maintain high-end offices in London.

The GPhC's recent decision to raise its fees has placed an undue burden on us while Duncan Rudkin continues to earn £170,000 annually as part of his role at the regulator. Furthermore, maintaining offices at Canary Wharf costs an astounding £1.5 million per year - a cost that could be significantly reduced by relocating.

We urge the GPhC not only to reverse their fee increases but also consider moving their offices from Canary Wharf and review Duncan Rudkin's position and salary. This will ensure that our hard-earned money is used more judiciously and reflects respect for those of us working tirelessly on the front lines.
