As a pet owner who has raised four German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs), I can attest to their boundless energy and potential for training. Instead of seeking help or considering adoption, Governor Noem chose the most brutal path.

This incident is not just about the life of one innocent dog; it reflects on the character and judgement of the state's leader. It raises serious concerns about her capacity to make compassionate decisions in her role as governor.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) states that behavioral issues are not a death sentence but rather an opportunity for intervention and rehoming if necessary. Yet, this governor chose violence over compassion.
