In my position as a University teacher, and like many others employed by the government, there is a growing, palpable concern. Those of us with or without rentals find ourselves in an untenable position - struggling to put food on the table as the rate of inflation outpaces our salaries. Countless individuals, proud contributors to society through their government roles, are finding survival difficult. This underlines the severity of the economic climate in which we've found ourselves waist-deep.


This is not just about us as individuals. This is about the entire workforce facing this struggle. We are University teachers, nurses, firefighters - government employees who serve our communities but can’t afford to feed our families. The time for change is now. We insist that the government acknowledge this problem and take immediate action to rectify the situation.
