India runs on cricket. It's a heartbeat that echoes through our large population; our constant companion that unites us in joy and sorrow. As an Indian, I am not oblivious to the uncertainties of cricket. Victory is not always promised. However, we are a nation mature enough to at least expect discipline, strategic planning, and responsible leadership, especially in games crucial to our standing.

Recently, we felt the sting of this lack of guidance during the 4th Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 against Australia. All we hoped for was a draw to keep our hopes alive. But the indifference in our batsmen’s shot selection and attitude mirrored a distinct lack of coaching and strategic planning. This lapse can directly be traced back to our head coach - Gautam Gambhir. 

Gambhir's tenure as coach has not only been void of experience, but also marked by a stubborn resistance to adjustments when situations demand them. Instead of supporting and leading his team, his intransigence and inflated ego have cast a threatening shadow over our cricketing future. This recently culminated with India's exclusion from the World Test Championship finals, a loss largely attributed to Gambhir's lack of accountability.

If we allow this to continue, not only will our standing in global cricket deteriorate, but we risk losing the upcoming Border-Gavasker Trophy as well. It's time to stand together and ensure that our beloved sport is not compromised by ineffective leadership. Join us in demanding Gautam Gambhir's immediate resignation as the head coach of the Indian Men's Cricket Team. Stand up for competent leadership, for a brighter cricketing future for India.
