La Cour nationale du droit d'asile française a statué en juillet 2025 que 100 % des Palestiniens étaient éligibles à l'asile en France. Peu après, le 1er août 2025, le ministre français des affaires étrangères, Jean-Noël Barrot, a suspendu toutes les évacuations de réfugiés de Gaza vers la France. Il a pris cette décision sur la base d'un seul étudiant réfugié en France accusé d'avoir publié des contenus antisémites.

Cette décision est un nouvel exemple d'un gouvernement qui punit collectivement les Palestiniens. D'innombrables étudiants innocents restent à Gaza dans l'attente d'une évacuation, tout en subissant la menace constante d'un génocide, Israël continuant à bombarder les maisons, les écoles et les hôpitaux.

Punir collectivement tous les demandeurs d'asile innocents pour les actions d'une seule personne est manifestement une erreur. Ces personnes ne demandent que la sécurité et la possibilité de vivre une vie normale.

Le secrétaire général des Nations unies, António Guterres, s'est dit "consterné" par les informations faisant état de Palestiniens tués alors qu'ils tentaient d'obtenir une aide alimentaire. Le Conseil des droits de l'homme des Nations unies et d'autres experts de l'ONU ont averti qu'Israël utilisait la nourriture comme une arme, ce qui constitue un crime de guerre. Amnesty International et même des groupes israéliens de défense des droits de l'homme comme B'Tselem et Physicians for Human Rights Israel affirment qu'Israël commet un génocide.

La France doit reprendre les évacuations dès maintenant. Les étudiants de Gaza font partie de la majorité mondiale. Ils méritent d'être en sécurité et d'avoir un avenir.

The French National Court of Asylum ruled in July 2025 that 100% of Palestinians are eligible for asylum in France. Not long afterward on August 1, 2025, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot suspended all evacuations of refugees from Gaza into France. He made this decision on the basis of a single refugee student in France accused of posting antisemitic content.

This decision is yet another example of a government collectively punishing Palestinians. Countless innocent students remain in Gaza awaiting evacuation while enduring the constant threat of genocide as Israel continues to bomb homes, schools, and hospitals.

Collectively punishing all innocent people seeking asylum for one person’s actions is obviously wrong. These people only want safety and the chance to live normal lives.

The UN Secretary-General António Guterres said he was "appalled" by reports of Palestinians killed while trying to get food aid. The UN Human Rights Council and other UN experts have warned that Israel is using food as a weapon, which is a war crime. Amnesty International and even Israeli human rights groups like B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel say Israel is committing genocide.

France must restart evacuations now. Students from Gaza are part of the global majority. They deserve safety and a future.
