As a former member of the film industry, I was compelled to leave due to an overwhelming wave of pro-Zionist rhetoric. This experience has led me to believe that it is crucial we voice our discontent with the pro-Zionist leadership in Hollywood. The biases of Hollywood and SAG AFTRA must be laid bare and held accountable.

Fran Drescher, as President of SAG AFTRA, has shown biased support towards Israel since as early as 2018. This bias was further evidenced when SAG AFTRA recently released a statement in support of Israel. Such partiality indicates a blind spot towards Palestinian and other BIPOC actors who are equally deserving members within this union.

This lack of perspective from our leaders not only undermines the principles upon which these organizations were built but also threatens the diversity and inclusivity that should be inherent within them.

If we aren’t able to hold our positions without scrutiny then they shouldn’t either. We demand Fran Drescher's resignation as her continued presence compromises the equitability required for such an influential role.

We call on all members and supporters who believe in equality, fairness, and unbiased representation within SAG AFTRA to not only sign this petition demanding Fran Drescher's resignation as President, but to take a firm stance in opposing Zionism.

Goals of this petition:

1. Calling on everyone, specifically members of the film industry, to stand proudly in solidarity with the 10,000 innocent lives lost in Palestine.
2. Show SAG-AFTRA that Zionism does not serve the interests of the people.
3. Garner numerical support to present to SAG-AFTRA to sway their decision.
4. Spreading awareness of Fran Drescher’s involvement with the IDF.
5. Delegitimize Israel’s involvement in SAG-AFTRA. And show that we do not think it’s normal for Hollywood unions to be involved with a military force that is committing active genocide.
