As an ardent Fortnite player in Africa, I join my voice with millions of other players on the continent in experiencing the impediment of high latency issues. This creates an uneven playing field and it's purely due to the lack of locally-based servers. According to Statista, Africa represents a significant share of the 350 million Fortnite players globally. Yet, while other continents enjoy multiple server locations, Africa is left in the cold, spurning a significant number of enthusiastic and competitive players.

The difference dedicated African servers could make is enormous and cannot be overstated. They would ensure smoother gameplay, reduced ping, and an even playing field for all players regardless of their location. This is a claim for the equality and inclusion that has been overlooked for too long.

Epic Games, the developers behind Fortnite, need to understand the importance of their African player base and invest in infrastructure that accommodates us too. Establishing Fortnite servers in Africa is not only a matter of leveling the playing arena, it also highlights the company's commitment to their global player ecosystem.

Neglecting this sizable, dynamic, and vibrant community disadvantages and ultimately disengages us. It's high time African players received equal treatment. Therefore, we are petitioning Epic Games to set up servers in Africa to facilitate better gaming experiences. Let's urge Epic Games to recognize Africa's relevance in the Fortnite narrative by granting us our own servers.
