The Debate Commission has allowed post-debate media representation to be heavily weighted to far-right conspiracy theorists instead of legitimate journalists.  While limiting other media outlets to one journalist each at the post-debate scrums,  Ezra Levant’s online Rebel News site was granted five spots.  This has outraged many Canadians and violates the essential values of democracy, transparency, and accountability.

This election is a critical time in our nation's history, with our democracy facing a clear threat. For the Debate Commission to disregard this threat and facilitate the spread of misinformation is unconscionable. 

We demand that the Debate Commission not only apologises but also ensures future debates are conducted under a fair and impartial environment with trustworthy stakeholders. They owe Canadians a credible explanation. The apathy towards ensuring a balanced representation of voices shows a profound problem in the management of the Debate Commission. This is a wake-up call!
