Demand for Removal of Ineffective Principal at Flournoy Elementary School

The Issue

Parents, teachers, staff, and community members from the Flournoy Elementary School in the city of Watts are uniting to protest and voice their dissatisfaction against the current principal, calling for her immediate removal.

Flournoy Elementary is a Los Angeles Unified School District School.

The principal at Flournoy Elementary School is considered ineffective due to severe mismanagement and a lack of professionalism, leading to unacceptable working and learning conditions. Key issues include understaffed special education classes, a lack of essential support roles, and disorganized communication regarding schedules and meetings. Educators have expressed frustration over years of unresolved student support referrals and inadequate safety planning.

Their discontent stems from the Los Angeles Unified School District's continued ignorance of their requests over the last two years. Despite a previous petition signed by an astonishing 96% of teachers expressing their concern over the leadership, their voices have fallen on deaf ears. Additionally, parents have spoken, and yet, they too have been ignored in their demand for a new and effective principal.

We urge the decision-makers at Los Angeles Unified School District to prioritize the education and safety of our children. The unity in this protest is a testament to the urgency and importance of this matter.

This is a call to the district to rise up and respond to our plea. Please, sign this petition and support our demand for a new principal. Please, sign this petition if you stand with the students of Watts for a safe school for our children!!
