In recent months, we’ve seen political parties hand out ice cream, eggs, fish, and freebies of all kinds. While these gestures may bring a smile, policies — not perks — are what shape the soul of a nation.

As one famous saying goes:
“If you want to make everyone happy, don’t be a leader — sell ice cream.”

Leadership, real leadership, is about having the courage to make difficult decisions that may not be popular today, but are meant to build a stronger tomorrow.

This Townhall is a call to rise above superficial giveaways and start the conversations that truly matter.

What This Townhall Is About:

"Beyond Ice Cream; Let's Talk Policies" is a non-partisan civic platform where Singaporeans engage directly with political parties on their visions for our country.

We invite all political parties — whether ruling or opposition — to join us and present their ideas, strategies, and solutions to the challenges Singapore faces, including:

  • Rising cost of living
  • Housing affordability
  • Healthcare policies and pandemic preparedness
  • Education, jobs, and AI disruptions
  • Constitutional rights and civil liberties
  • Governance, transparency, and public trust
  • Global Uncertainty and National Sovereignty
  • All these and more.

It will be a respectful, moderated space for independent candidates and party representatives alike to connect with voters, exchange ideas, and demonstrate leadership through transparency and dialogue.

We will be updating the list of Panalists who will be joining us in this meaningful event. Stay tuned. All candidates from all political parties are invited. We hope that they will accept our invitation for this National Dialogue.

🇸🇬 Honouring a Legacy
We ride on the legacy of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, whose governance was guided not by populism, but by policy grounded in principle. He famously said:

“I always tried to be correct, not politically correct.”
— Lee Kuan Yew

It is this spirit of thoughtful, courageous, and transparent governance that we wish to revive.

Policies are the compass of a nation. When made with clarity and integrity, they become a lighthouse — steadying us through uncertainty and showing us the path ahead.

💡 Why This Matters
This is your opportunity — as a citizen — to:

Ask real questions
Understand party positions
Participate meaningfully in nation-building
We are not here to endorse parties. We are here to empower people.

📣 Join Us.
Be part of a new civic awakening in Singapore.
Where citizens don’t just receive handouts — we ask hard questions.
Where we build a nation not on giveaways, but on good governance.

Because a democratic society based on justice and equality is not built with ice creams. It’s built with integrity, participation, and sound policies.

This event is organised by Concerned Citizens.
