We are calling for the urgent establishment of dedicated high school provisions for children with special educational needs and disabilities. While we appreciate the expansion of primary school facilities to support these children, there is a significant gap in high school options that cater to their unique requirements.

Many families, face challenges in securing appropriate educational placements for their children as they transition to secondary education. Currently, the lack of specialised support leads to inadequate options, forcing some to attend mainstream schools that cannot facilitate their needs.

We urge local authorities and decision-makers to prioritise the development of high school facilities that provide the necessary support for children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the education they deserve and can thrive in an inclusive environment.

The option for SEN should not have to be 'fit in' or 'stay out!'
