Demand for Integrity for Class of 2026 Jacket

Demand for Integrity for Class of 2026 Jacket
The Issue
We demand integrity and transparency from the selected Class of 2026 Reunions Jacket Design.
At Princeton, we as students hold ourselves to the Honor Code and routinely reaffirm our commitment to integrity and honesty throughout our academic careers. Princeton's vitality as an academic institution rests upon the ability of each student to create their own individual contribution.
Our class jacket, an enduring symbol of our time at Princeton, should reflect these values and our values as a class. We the undersigned demand transparency and clarity in the selection of the Class of 2026 jacket design to ensure no Artificial Intelligence tools have been used to create a fabrication of an idea without grounding in our principles as a class.
Additionally, the use of AI presents a clear violation of the rules of the design contest, as shown in the form below. We deserve a jacket created by a member of the class, not a program. We deserve respect for the dozens of students who went through an iterative, creative, and laborious process in their submission.
To these ends, we demand clear evidence that the Jacket design for the great class of 2026 is created through a human-driven design, rather than an algorithmic generation.
For designers, this should be overwhelmingly easy to provide. Whether this is a timelapse of the creation of the design (accessible through most software), or a .psd file or similar displaying the various layers used in the creation of the design.
As members of a university which prides itself on academic integrity, it is an afront to represent this vital institution with designs which cut corners, disrespect artistic creation, and delude the agreed-upon rules of the contest.
