On July 1st, a heartbreaking video of a Husky being violently mistreated by his owner went viral, sparking outrage and concern across our community. Animal rescuers, acting out of compassion and urgency, convinced the owner to release the Husky, now named Kitster, into their care. Kitster was taken to a private vet for immediate treatment and rehabilitation.

Shockingly, instead of supporting these noble efforts, the animal authorities (DVS) intervened and confiscated Kitster from the vet. 

News reports from 4th July say dvs plan to place Kitster in the DVS pound for “investigation” and are taking statements from the owner for his side of story. DVS has the power to decide to return husky to the owner if there are no apparent injuries. If SO, This decision would completely disregard the evidence of abuse shown in the video and the mental trauma inflicted on Kitster.

We, the public, must stand together to protect Kitster and ensure he receives the care he desperately needs. DVS must collaborate with the animal rescuers and allow Kitster to remain at the private vet, where he is safe and receiving proper treatment.

WHAT WE DEMAND:

 1. An immediate update from DVS on Kitster’s condition.

 2. Assurance that Kitster will not be returned to his abusive owner.

 3. Collaboration between DVS and the animal rescuers to ensure Kitster’s safety and wellbeing.

 4. Transparency and accountability from DVS regarding their actions and decisions.

Kitster deserves justice, compassion, and a loving home. The authorities must act in the best interest of the animals they are sworn to protect, not enable abuse.
