Gun violence has become a daily recurring crisis in America. Congress needs to act in order to help stop this pervasive issue.

Victims deserve proper burials and funerals. Survivors and victims' families require comprehensive PTSD treatment. Many parts of the country where mass shootings are occurring most often are already economically depressed, leaving these communities unable to incur the extra cost associated with these senseless tragedies.

A proposed 50% tax on handguns, a 70% tax on ammunition and a 90% tax on assault rifles can be levied on all sales and distributive transactions, nationwide, in an effort to absorb these costs and lower the sales rates of these weapons and ammunition, especially among groups more likely to make such purchases for nefarious purposes. Additional funds can be raised with a tax of no less than 50% per event can be levied on gun show organizers and exhibitors. 

59% of Americans said passing stricter gun control laws was either somewhat or very important. 70% of Americans support red flag laws. 84% of Americans support background checks. Gun violence costs taxpayers $280 billion per year.

Americans have experienced more than their fair share of gun violence and the accompanying loss and trauma. Sign this petition and tell Congress to act now. Even if there isn't a legislative path to banning guns, we can still tax gun violence out of existence!
