Yet, across the globe, scientists have been deliberately targeted and killed for their work. These attacks don’t just take lives – they extinguish potential cures, inventions, and discoveries that benefit us all.
Every scientist silenced robs the world of knowledge: medicines that could cure illnesses, technologies that could improve our lives, and equations that could unlock the universe’s secrets. Such violence darkens our collective future and undermines the essential freedom of inquiry that drives progress.
We, the undersigned, strongly condemn the assassination of scientists anywhere in the world. We believe that an attack on one researcher is an attack on the entire human family. Safeguarding those who push the boundaries of knowledge is a moral imperative.

📌Governments to enact and enforce laws that protect researchers and prosecute those who threaten them.
📌International organizations (including the United Nations and its bodies) to recognize assassinations of scientists as crimes against humanity and to support global protective measures.
📌Universities and research institutions to speak out against these crimes and ensure the safety of their scholars.
📌Civil society and every individual to raise their voices and stand in solidarity with scientists under threat.
