Demand Fairness: Stop Meta and Instagram from Wrongfully Disabling Accounts
The Issue
We've had enough of our rights being trampled on. Innocent people are increasingly finding their accounts disabled on both Meta and Instagram platforms. We've been falsely accused of violating community guidelines, and community standards, terms of use, terms of use, while the actual perpetrators of these injustices remain unpunished. This is not only unfair, but raises serious ethical questions about the conduct of Meta and their employees. Our personal lives, businesses, and connections are being severed by this unjust system and AI that's being misused to disable accounts that have done no wrong.
Mark Zuckerberg and Adam Mosseri, it's time to hold accountable those responsible for this unfair practice. We respect and value conducting business properly, and those wrongfully affecting our accounts need to be relieved of their duties. The trust that was once between us and your platforms is eroding, and the only way to mend it is to right the wrongs.
We demand that Meta and Instagram conduct a thorough investigation, take necessary disciplinary actions against the employees involved, restore our accounts and take robust measures to prevent such actions in the future.
It is not just a matter of community guidelines or algorithms, but a value system that is crucial to retaining and respecting your users. We demand an apology from you and a commitment that transparency and fairness will be at the forefront of your company ethos moving forward. Please, for everyone's sake, let's make sure justice is served. It's time to sign this petition and demand reparation and fairness.
many timely and innocent users of the social media giant, Meta, have gone through the ordeal of seeing their accounts wrongfully disabled, suspended without any opportunity for appeal. Upon trying to appeal these measures, Meta rejects them outright. Furthermore, in several incidents, IPs have been banned, exacerbating the issue and further alienating aggrieved users.
Meta sadly falls short when it comes to providing a customer support network. There is no one to reach out to rectify these issues. A staggering number of affected people have even resorted to filing complaints to attorney generals for restoration of their rights. The issue complicates for those of us residing outside the U.S., as our browsing experience is further limited and susceptible.
This cannot continue unaddressed.
