I have been a server at Duffy’s Sports Grill in North Miami Beach for a while now. Things were running smoothly until we recently experienced a change in our General Manager. That's when the problems began. Suddenly, our tip-outs were increased with little to no justification, and we found ourselves taking on the workload of others. Despite our additional efforts, we were still required to pay other staff from our tips without any prior discussion or agreement.

What is even more disheartening is that whenever we brought up our concerns, the only response management provided was that there was "nothing we can do about it." Even when I took matters into my own hands and approached the corporate office, which successfully resolved the issues temporarily, it led to retaliation from my managers instead of the implementation of a sustainable solution.

This is not just a personal struggle; it reflects a broader issue within Duffy's management system. There needs to be a change to ensure that all waiters and waitresses are treated equally and fairly, with transparent communication about compensation and responsibilities. Any changes impacting our earnings should be openly discussed and agreed upon before being finalized. Anything short of this standard is simply unfair.
