The End of One Effort, the Beginning of Another

Dear Supporters,

Thank you all for your continued support, signatures, and voices throughout this effort. I wanted to provide you with the latest update regarding the proposed TWU Local 579 dues increase.

As of May 20, the TWU Local 579 Executive Board, in coordination with the International Administrative Committee (IAC), has officially approved the dues increase and several changes to the by-laws.

While this is certainly not the outcome many of us hoped for, it’s important to recognize that our voices were not in vain. The solidarity shown throughout this petition has made it clear that members are engaged and deeply care about the direction of our union.

What’s Next? Elections.

If you believe, as many of us do, that real change requires new leadership, then the most powerful thing you can do now is vote.

As dues-paying members, this is your right, and your opportunity, to shape the future of TWU Local 579.
