Demand Fair Pricing and Balanced Gameplay in Overwatch 2

O problema

As a passionate gamer who has been playing Overwatch since its release, I have witnessed the game's transformation from an exciting, balanced , fun multiplayer experience to a platform riddled with unfulfilled promises and predatory pricing. The thrill of teaming up with friends for strategic battles is now overshadowed by the game's current state.

Overwatch 2(OW2), was an update to the long abandoned game Overwatch(OW1) from Blizzard Entertainment, was initially marketed with promises of new content and a Player versus Environment (PVE) downloadable content (DLC), which have yet to be delivered, and recently canceled outright. This misleading marketing strategy has left many players feeling betrayed. Meaning that this "update" was a misleading marketing move in order to replace the original monetizing method that was pay to play without egregious pricing to an undelivered promise of a game "update" that is full of microtransactions and a Battle pass(BP).

Moreover, the pricing model for in-game skins is alarmingly high. A mythic skin costs $70 - more than the original recommended price of the original game itself ($60). Even skin bundles are priced around $30 - higher than what OW1 cost during its mid-life cycle ($20). This greed-driven approach not only devalues the initial investment made by OW1 players but also promotes an unhealthy gaming environment.

The imbalance in gameplay mechanics has also led to a significant drop in player numbers. Numerous professional players and coaches have voiced their concerns about this issue, highlighting how it discourages competitive play and even leading to the game not being fun to play or watch. Looking at the current state of the game and the recent patches proves that there is something wrong inside Blizzard. Meaning that the current game developers either don't  play the game or they are completely disconnect from the feedback channels.

This petition calls on Blizzard Entertainment to address these issues promptly. We demand fair pricing for all in-game items and urge them to deliver on their initial promises regarding PVE DLC and to have consideration with the people that have supported the game and the Overwatch League, as an alternative reverting the monetization for those who bought OW1 and optionally make the game pay to play in all platforms. Furthermore, we insist on listening the community in order to make the necessary gameplay adjustments, to restore balance.

We love this game too much to watch it decline due to poor management decisions. Please sign this petition if you share our concern and want Blizzard Entertainment held accountable for their actions.

What Blizzard Entertainment did is akin to buying a fully-equipped car, only to return to the dealership for maintenance and receive a different vehicle—stripped of the features you originally paid for—and then being asked to pay extra to get those same features back. This was us with Overwatch: we paid for the original game, only to be given a "free" stripped out version of Overwatch 2 that lacked many of the promised features and introduced aggressive monetization instead.
