As residents of La Quinta, we are deeply concerned about the environmental and health impacts caused by the Talus/Silverrock development. This project has been 'in the works' for nearly 20 years and yet continues to be a source of environmental distress. The site is a disaster zone with blowing sand and dust even at minimal wind speeds. There are no EPA mandated ‘water trucks’ or AQMD signs posted for where and whom to call for ‘blowing dust’.

This isn't just an eyesore; it's a health hazard. Many of us have experienced newfound lung disease and airborne dust problems due to this neglected site's lack of maintenance. We've seen an alarming increase in valley fever cases likely linked to the unmaintained site with no 'water trucks' or 'construction greens lime' to hold down loose dirt.

Our homes, our patios, our backyards are constantly covered in sand and dust from this development. When the winds blow, our voices get raspy; our lungs suffer.

We demand that developers adhere strictly to environmental regulations set by EPA & AQMD, including but not limited to implementing measures such as water trucks or construction greens lime that can reduce airborne dust particles significantly.

The time has come for action before more people fall ill due to negligence on part of those responsible for this project. We urge local authorities in La Quinta, CA, USA - please enforce stricter compliance measures on Talus/Silverrock Development immediately!
