As a parent, I am deeply concerned about the future of my son and 70 other young athletes whose dreams are being jeopardized by the AIA's decision to make them ineligible for playoffs in both Football and Track for the 2024-2025 season. To many of these kids, sports is more than just a game; it's their safe haven, their pathway to college, and a life lesson taught by dedicated coaches like Mark Carter.

The community is outraged at this punishment that seems more focused on serving the AIA rather than our children. If indeed the AIA stands for athletes' interests, why then are they penalizing our kids? This decision not only threatens their sporting careers but also impacts their mental health as they lose out on opportunities that could shape their futures.

In addition to this unjust ruling, we demand that the swift actions that the Desert Edge Athletic Director Pete Jelovic took last week will suffice for the upcoming season. With that being said, Mark Carter should be reinstated as a Co-Head Coach alongside his brother Marcus Carter after the 2024-2025 season. 

We urge you to reconsider this punitive measure against our children who have worked tirelessly towards achieving their dreams. Let us stand together in support of these young athletes who deserve fair chances at success.
