As an International Medical Graduate (IMG) Physician, I am among the numerous students who faced both technical and administrative failures that prevented us from submitting the Pathways application by the new deadline. This deadline was moved up due to the planned launch of MyIntealth platform, a launch which was subsequently cancelled. However, despite this cancellation, the original application deadline has remained unchanged.

This situation is not only unfair but also detrimental to our professional growth and contribution to healthcare. We are unable to gain certification for entrance into the 2024 Residency Match cycle due to these unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

The Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) has a responsibility towards us as aspiring physicians who have worked hard throughout our academic journey. It is crucial that they reopen the Pathways application so that we can continue on our path towards becoming certified physicians in time for the 2024 Residency Match cycle.

We understand that changes in schedules can be challenging but maintaining an unchanged deadline after cancelling a platform launch is unjustifiable. We urge ECFMG to reconsider their decision and provide us with another opportunity to submit our applications.
