As a passionate player who has devoted more than ten years and racked up over 4400+ hours just since moving to the Steam client in 2022, I am deeply saddened by the recent character modernization changes in Star Wars The Old Republic, spearheaded by EA and Broadsword Online Games.

The said changes resulted in characters that look significantly aged, up to 40 years older. Furthermore, the modifications make the characters appear sleep-deprived, conveying an inaccurate portrayal of drug and alcohol addiction. These alterations were not met positively during Public Beta testing, signaling they were possibly not ready for implementation.

The disapproval from the gaming community shows a disconnect between what the developers think players want and what the players actually desire. Star Wars The Old Republic has been cherished by its vibrant community for a decade, and maintaining that community's satisfaction should be a priority.
