As concerned members of the Mineola community and stakeholders in the quality of education provided to our children, we are calling for the resignation of Dr. Michael Nagler from his post as Superintendent of the Mineola Union Free School District. 

Instances of potential mishandled procurement operations have emerged, raising questions about conflicts of interest and  the financial management of the district's resources. The lack of transparency and oversight not only casts a shadow of doubt over financial operations but also impacts the quality of education services provided.

A particularly concerning initiative under Dr. Nagler's leadership is the implementation of the "Build Your Own Grade" program. This poorly conceived initiative has failed to meet educational standards and has left both students and educators frustrated with its ineffectiveness. It's crucial that our district upholds a curriculum that challenges and prepares our students for future success, rather than one that diminishes educational rigor.

In light of these grievances, coupled with a widespread loss of trust among community members, it is apparent that new leadership is essential. If Dr. Michael Nagler does not voluntarily resign, we demand that the Board of Education take immediate action to remove him from his position to restore the integrity and trust of the Mineola Union Free School District.

There is an urgent need to remove Dr. Michael Nagler as superintendent of the Mineola Union Free School District so the community can restore trust and move forward with leadership that demonstrates transparency and integrity. With the upcoming school year’s budget approaching, Mineola needs a superintendent who can present a plan rooted in honesty, accountability, and the best interests of students and taxpayers—not one clouded by controversy or eroding confidence.
