As a passionate viewer of 3D content and a proud owner of a 3D television, I discovered something truly disappointing. Disney Plus is marked with a 3D feature, suggesting that viewers would be able to enjoy their content in 3D glory on all devices. However, upon trying to view a movie in 3D on my television, I found that it was not possible. A conversation with customer service revealed that 3D viewing is only available on an Apple Vision Pro headset - a device that costs around $3500. Many viewers, including myself, do not wish to wear a headset or make such a significant investment for viewing pleasure.
Furthermore, while there is a refusal to enable 3D viewing on televisions, there could at least be an initiative to make the content available across all headset devices. This discrepancy is even more pronounced when we consider that other countries are still releasing 3D content, with America noticeably left out. For instance, the last Disney 3D movie released in America was Doctor Strange, yet we have missed out on key releases like Thor 3, GOG 3 Shang Chi, Eternals and several others. Most of these missed out titles, I had to import from the UK or Japan. Disney, as one of the world's most influential media companies, should rise to the occasion and facilitate a truly inclusive viewing experience for all of its users. It's time Disney Plus extended its 3D capabilities for the benefit and enjoyment of all viewers worldwide, irrespective of what device they use.
