The Issue

The disheartening news surrounding Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike has shocked and saddened many concerned citizens. A renowned innovator and education reformist, Wangchuk decided to embark on a hunger strike drawing attention to critical issues faced by the education sector which have long been neglected. His dedication to educational reform is unwavering, and we cannot turn a blind eye when such an esteemed individual resorts to fasting to make his voice heard.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must take responsibility for the lack of action and oversight that have led to this dire situation. Under his tenure, several initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education and addressing core issues have fallen short. Many institutions continue to struggle with inadequate funding, outdated curricula, and infrastructural deficits which form the backbone of Wangchuk's concerns. These failings must be acknowledged and addressed to move forward constructively.

Furthermore, the Ministry's failure to engage with local educators and reformists, like Wangchuk, demonstrates a disconnect that hampers progress. Instead of collaborating to develop and implement sustainable educational strategies, there's been little to no acknowledgment of their invaluable insights and proposals.

In light of these ongoing challenges and the desperate measures taken by Wangchuk, we demand the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from his ministerial position. We believe fresh leadership is essential to reinvigorate policies, promote grassroots collaborations, and ensure that India's educational landscape flourishes.

Wangchuk's plight is a call to action for both policymakers and citizens. We cannot allow his hunger strike to go in vain. Let us come together to support a system that values innovation, embraces change, and prioritizes the needs of students and educators alike.

Sign this petition to hold the Minister accountable and support Sonam Wangchuk's noble cause for better educational reforms. Together, we can effect meaningful change.
