Demand David Baszucki's Resignation from Roblox

Demand David Baszucki's Resignation from Roblox
The Issue
As a concerned minor, I am deeply troubled by the lack of safety on the Roblox platform. It is supposed to be a safe space for kids, a place where imaginations can run wild, and friendships can blossom. Yet, I cannot play without the unsettling fear of encountering inappropriate behavior from adults who mean harm. It is unacceptable that a platform created for children has not taken sufficient measures to protect its users from pedophiles and other malicious individuals.
Roblox, a global sensation headquartered in San Mateo, CA, is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of its youngest users. With millions of daily active players, many of whom are children like myself, it is disheartening to see such negligence from the leadership in addressing these critical safety issues. A recent investigation by a reputable online watchdog found numerous instances where the platform failed to act against reports of predatory behavior.
Research by Internet safety organizations suggests that robust moderation and monitoring are key to creating safer online environments for children. Despite this, Roblox has not adequately invested in or prioritized user safety. This lack of action has left many young gamers at risk, and it's clear that a change in leadership is necessary to bring a fresh perspective and commitment to user protection.
We demand the immediate resignation of CEO David Baszucki. The ongoing safety issues exemplify a need for leadership committed to transparency and the implementation of stringent safety protocols. Under new leadership, Roblox can foster an environment where creativity and security coexist, allowing children to explore and engage without fear.
Sign this petition to urge Roblox's board and stakeholders to take immediate action. Together, we can call for David Baszucki's resignation and advocate for a platform that truly serves and protects its youngest users. Let's reclaim Roblox as the safe, fun space it was always meant to be.
