As a citizen of India residing in the North Eastern region, I am deeply troubled by the tragic incident involving Chongtham Vikram Singh, a respected musician and music teacher from Manipur, who was brutally beaten to death by a group of  Dhaba workers in New Delhi. This heart-wrenching event is not just a personal tragedy, but the concerns surrounding discrimination and violence faced by people from the Northeast.”

In light of this devastating incident,  both the Delhi Police and the Government of Manipur to engage in transparent and consistent cooperation throughout the investigation and subsequent judicial proceedings. Such collaboration is essential to ensuring a thorough, impartial, and effective pursuit of justice for Chongtham Vikram Singh. This tragic case should be a wake-up call to address and curb the alarming rate of discrimination and prejudice against individuals from the North East.

We must collectively strive to uplift the curtain of hatred clouding our diverse nation, fostering a spirit of equality and fraternity among all Indians. By actively addressing issues of discrimination and ensuring justice is served impartially, we can move closer to a unified and harmonious society.

Furthermore, I appeal to the Union authorities to consider initiating post-conviction transfers of those responsible, ensuring they serve their sentences in Manipur, where the crime's impact is intensely felt. This measure could serve as subject to applicable law and the competent authorities' approval,
