Demand Congress Reject Proposed Budget Cuts for VA Care for Veterans

Demand Congress Reject Proposed Budget Cuts for VA Care for Veterans
The Issue
I am approaching you as a veteran with two decades of service under my belt. I stand proud, having deployed for the Global War on Terror to Iraq and Afghanistan numerous times. Now, our nation has emerged out of the most prolonged period of conflict and combat in US history. However, as our struggle ebbs, it comes with a devastating proposition – cuts to veterans care.
This proposition completely overlooks the Congressional Budget Office's lines 23-26 recommendations, a mistimed and misguided decision considering the valuable service rendered by brave veterans. Veterans, like myself, depend on the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system for the medical and psychological help we often critically need after our service. Logically, there's no sound reason to upset an already concerning reality for veterans' care post-service.
According to the National Veterans Foundation, around 1.7 million veterans reported having a service-connected disability in 2018 (source: National Veterans Foundation). The proposed cuts will undeniably leave these veterans, many who rely on VA for their care, vulnerable and underserved.
I write this petition urging Congressmen and women to hear our plea and reject these proposed budget cuts. Let's not turn our backs on those who stood the frontline for our country. Understand our situation. Respect and honor our sacrifices.
Now is a crucial time to stand in solidarity to defend the welfare of our veterans—sign this petition today.
