As passionate animal lovers and feeders of street animals, we find ourselves in a challenging situation. One of our dearly loved street dogs was severely hit on the head. To save him, an MRI is required; however, the costs at Tata Trusts Small Animal Hospital, Mumbai, are distressingly high. An average MRI scans cost around 20000, an amount many of us cannot afford to spare.

This predicament is not unique to us. Many street animals across the city potentially face the same fate because feeders simply do not have the resources to pay for such expensive treatments. When Tata Trusts Small Animal Hospital started, they proclaimed that they would provide concessional rates for street animals. However, the current scenario is starkly different, with the same rates being charged for all animals with no distinction between pets and animals living on the streets.
