Demand Compensation for Hours of Unpaid Online Therapy for Caitlin Slaughter
This petition might be funny. Unfortunately, the hours we have spent listening are very real.
We, the undersigned members of Caitlin Slaughter’s online audience, have accidentally found ourselves employed in a position none of us remember applying for: Unlicensed Internet Therapist.
We showed up for soap content. Somehow, we ended up clocking three hour therapy shifts.
We have listened. We have offered advice. We have tried to provide accountability. We have sent funny songs to improve morale. We have sat through stories, updates, emotional plot twists, and enough trauma dumping to qualify for overtime.
And what have we received in return?
No paycheck.
No benefits.
No paid lunch.
Not even complimentary soap.
Frankly, the working conditions are becoming unacceptable.
Therefore, we respectfully and extremely seriously demand one of two solutions:
Option A: The content becomes a little less emotionally exhausting so the audience can enjoy the soap content without accidentally becoming a crisis response team.
OR
Option B: Caitlin officially recognizes the audience as her unpaid online therapy department and provides compensation of $100 per hour, plus free soap with FREE SHIPPING.
And before anyone tries to cut corners: no soap chunks. Full soap only. Shipping included. We will not negotiate.
Yes, we understand that we are not licensed therapists. That is precisely the problem. We did not attend graduate school. We did not complete clinical hours. Nobody gave us a certificate. Yet somehow we keep finding ourselves attending extremely long internet therapy sessions from the comfort of our phones.
If we are expected to listen, advise, encourage, provide accountability, send emotional support songs, and return for the next session, then it is time to discuss wages.
This petition represents the exhausted ears of viewers everywhere.
For too long, we have given our time freely. For too long, our emotional support services have gone uncompensated. For too long, we have wondered when the soap portion of the livestream was coming back.
We demand justice.
We demand compensation.
We demand free shipping.
And above all, we demand NO CHUNKS.
Sign this petition to stand in solidarity with the brave, unpaid Internet Therapists who logged on for soap and somehow ended up with a caseload
