Still On the Table: 900 Helmcken Update for the 2,908

Thank you for signing the petition. You are part of a group of 2,908 residents, customers, and business owners who have made it clear that this process matters.

We want to give you an update: 900 Helmcken has not been removed from consideration. Minister of Health Josie Osborne has confirmed publicly, and in meetings, that while some consultation will take place, the site is still on the table. 

Mayor Sim and Councillors Meiszner, Klassen, and Zhao have all called for proper community engagement before anything moves forward and that call has gone unanswered. 

We’re watching closely because since the Province took possession of the building, residents have reported late-night construction activity during the announced pause. We have a video of active site preparation during this period. That footage has been shared with elected officials and media. 

A pause is not a plan. We are not done.

We are organizing a public rally and will share the details — date, location, how to get involved — very soon. In the meantime, the single most useful thing you can do is forward this to one person who lives or works near Helmcken Street.
