Petition updateDemand Change for the Animals of Kansas City: Return Animal Control to the City🚨 URGENT: Our Fight for the Animals of Kansas City is in Danger! PLEASE HELP! PLEASE ACT NOW! 🚨

Your immediate action is needed. Our movement to bring animal control back under city management has hit another roadblock. Due to yet another administrative delay, our plea to bring animal control back to the city was not introduced yesterday and will not be introduced to the full City Council until at least February 27th–and even that date is not guaranteed.

This delay is not just a setback—it’s a direct threat to the future of animal welfare in Kansas City. Without your voice, we could lose this battle entirely.

We Are Out of Time. Action Is Needed NOW.

The city’s annual budget hearings are happening RIGHT NOW, and this is our last chance to make sure that animal welfare—including the insourcing of animal control—is prioritized.

We need as many people as possible to show up, speak out, and demand that City Council make animal control a city service again. If we don’t show overwhelming support, our movement could be buried under political red tape.

How You Can Help: Attend a Budget Hearing & Speak Up for the Animals

The City Council must hear from YOU. Attend one of these critical budget hearings and tell them to bring animal control back under city management:

📍 Saturday, February 15 | 9:00 a.m. – Noon

Gregg/Klice Community Center – 1600 E 17th Ter, Kansas City, MO 64108

(Language Access Available)

📍 Monday, February 24 | 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Auditorium at Woodneath Library Center – 8900 NE Flintlock Road, Kansas City, MO 64157

📍 Saturday, March 1 | 9:00 a.m. – Noon

Goppert Performing Arts Center at Avila University – 11901 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145

Can’t Attend in Person? Complete the Survey!

Even if you can’t be there, your voice still counts. Fill out the city’s budget feedback survey and demand that animal control be brought back under city management. It only takes a few minutes:

This Is It—The Animals Are Counting on Us.

This is our final chance to make a difference. If we don’t act now, Kansas City’s animals will continue to suffer under KC Pet Project’s failing system.

Please, show up. Speak out. Take action. We need you more than ever.

For the animals,
Becca
