Dear Supporters,
After months of hard work and advocacy, we now have an updated timeline for the next steps in the movement to return animal control to the City where it belongs!
We expect an official ordinance to be introduced at this week’s City Council meeting (2/13)!
Key Dates:
📅 Thursday, Feb. 13 – Introduction of an ordinance to “in-source” animal control services at the City Council meeting.
📅 Tuesday, Feb. 25 – Public hearing/testimony at City Council committee meeting to debate the ordinance.
📅 Thursday, Feb. 27 – Final vote at full City Council meeting (and approval!)
*Times and dates are subject to change, so please check out Calendar on the City’s website to stay up to date!

This is our time to step up, speak out, and push this across the finish line!
How You Can Help:
✅Show up to the City Council and Committee meetings–the more voices we have, the stronger our message!
✅Contact your City Council members and urge them to support the transition of animal control back to the City. Let them know that anything other than a clear vote in affirmation is an endorsement of animal neglect, abuse, and cruelty.
✅Stay tuned for updates on the official hearing date and any more calls to action.
Thank you for standing with and advocating for the animals of Kansas City! Let’s keep the momentum going and make sure Kansas City’s animals get the care and protection they deserve.
Thank you for being part of this movement–Let’s finish this fight!
